Opportunities for Youth in District Khairpur Mir’s

Bhittai Social Watch & Advocacy (BSWA), was established in the year 1995, by a group of educated and devoted people of the area. The organization got registered under Voluntary Social Welfare Agency (Registration & Control) Ordinance 1961. It is not for profitable and non-governmental right based and community social development indigenous intermediary organization of Sindh. First registered as “Bhittai Social Welfare Association. In 2012 after expanding the programs and area renamed as “Bhittai Social Watch & Advocacy- BSWA is making sincere efforts for improving livelihoods, and socio economic conditions of vulnerable groups of the area through advocacy campaign, resources mobilization, training, and networking. The involvement of its participatory approach has made meaningful impact on human life and development of the surrounding communities.

BSWA is currently implementing USAID funded Citizen Voice Project (CVP) on “Importance of Local Government” in District Khairpur Mirs Sindh. Under this project youth volunteers will be identified and selected as per set criteria (mentioned below). These selected youth volunteers will undergo through training workshop on project theme and subsequently BSWA will provide opportunities to trained youth volunteers to participate and lead in all awareness campaigns, seminars, letter writing, rallies, TV Talk shows etc. relevant to project activities in proposed District.

Criteria for Youth Volunteers:

  Youth age of 18-29 years male and female from District Khairpur Mirs

  Preferably college, university students and graduates, social activists, media persons

  Able to attend training & other social events during and after project life

  Shows commitment of working within community for importance of local government system

  Members from marginalized communities will be preferred

  Have previously participated in activities as volunteer or supporter organized by any of the organization in same area (preferred)

Importance Note:

  Bhittai Social Watch & Advocacy- (BSWA) will bear all training expenses of youth volunteers.

  Organization will provide refreshment/food to volunteers during relevant activities.

  All activities will be on volunteer basis so there will be no any provision of cash/honorarium for youth volunteers participating in any project activity.
